Tony Law founded InformationSpan in 2007

Tony is an information technology professional with over thirty years' experience, most of it in major global companies. He has worked in applications, academic and commercial research, and information management.

He knows the technology landscape and has contacts across industry and technology development. He has been responsible for emerging technology awarenes, identifying opportunities for business benefit. He has experience in selecting and managing the delivery of insight services; and in training design and delivery.

His blog, ITasITis, covers IT news which catches his eye, going behind the headlines to the original sources and providing a unique insight based on his blend of experience.

Tony studied Chemistry and Mineralogy, and holds the degrees of Master of Arts (MA), Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) from Oxford University. Programming and data analysis were a major part of his research; involvement in the university's Computer User Group was the first step towards a move into IT.

He is a Member of the British Computer Society, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered IT Professional. He now teaches within the Faculty of Maths, Computing and Technology for the Open University.
